Christmas in Crisis
About
Ambushed in the run up to Christmas, Santa Claus finds HERself trapped and stripped of her power, held hostage by rogue magic users.
Three students and their tutor lead the charge to find her kidnappers, joined by an unconventional dragon agent trusted by the king.
Long held secrets threaten to reveal the true identity of Father Christmas. Will sharing a magical vow stem the tide of the revelations?
Can a dragon collective made up of students from across the globe, powered by a renowned warrior, save Christmas and keep alive all of humanity’s hopes and dreams?
As the magic fades and time runs out, adults and children alike get a glimpse of what the future holds without their cheery, big bellied, bearded saviour... a dark and turbulent planet thrown into despair, with faith, expectation and optimism all long since dead. Is this truly what awaits or can Fate be thwarted at the very last second?
Find out if the unwitting group of heroes with ties to the future can countermand such duplicity and deceitfulness and ask yourself: does the treachery extend much further than this?
Praise for this book
A highly recommended read! The level of wordsmith(ing) is brilliant! The plot, the characters, and theme are perfectly meshed! It’s not, in my opinion, a book about a character who must set about the lofty task of saving Christmas-symbolic-what if one’s beliefs and hopes are jeopardized? Outstanding!
I just finished reading this and was continually surprised with the inventiveness of the author in defining the rules of the world setting. Santa has been kidnapped (not a spoiler as that is part of the description of the book) and she must be found and saved. This rescuers include students and their favorite teacher, a special guard, the king, and many others working together to save Santa and Christmas.
I found this had humor, adventure, families, practical jokes, and love - a pretty good combination for a book!
This book is so much fun! I adored everything about it. Such a brilliant concept and a great Xmas atmosphere amid the action and danger. Looking forward to reading more from this author!
This is an exciting story about Christmas and what almost happened. Vimes, a tor or teacher to us, was on a rest period at school when he received a message that a special mailbox held a letter for him. It mere!y stated that his he!p was needed. There was only one person who could have sent it. His best friend "Polks". What to do? He finally gathered his 3 best students, and after much thought he made them take a vow and he told them who " Polks" or Polkinghorne really was. Polkinghorne is a she and she was really Father Christmas!!! Talk about blowing your mind. The only thing the 4 of them knew, was that she was in serious trouble.
In a hospital bed, Flash, a Crimson Guard, the best one the King of all dragons and humans had, was at his bedside when he awoke. He asked him if he was well enough to take on a secret mission. Of course, the answer was yes. Now Fate, who is so very fickle, played her hand and Vinnes, Flash, Peter, Richie and Tank all met up. The two groups finally began to trust each other and begin a "think tank".
Now the storyline starts to get interesting. Of course, I'm not going to tell you anymore, why start to spoil the story for you. I am no where near the story teller that the author, Paul Cude, is. There is excitement, sadistic humor caused by Manson (and the author), friendship and love all mixed in this story. It is no where near what you would expect in a Christmas story. Towards the end, I even shed a few tears. Believe me, it is a story well worth reading.
